USS Chicago Reunion was held March 20-23 2025 in Jacksonville Florida

721 Association 2025 Reunion

The 2025 reunion was held March 20 - 23 in Jacksonville Florida at the Doubletree Jacksonville Riverfront Hotel.

This was the first reunion held since the decommissioning of the boat in 2023.

Thursday evening attendees and the Association board members met in the hospitality suite for pizza, wings and refreshments.

Friday was an eventful day starting off with a trip to St. Mary Georgia and a visit to the St. Marys Submarine Museum where the executive director, Keith Post, gave a presentation on the history of the museum. From there the group stopped at the submarine base Franklin Gate for a photo op at the USS George Bancroft (SSBN-643) sail memorial. The group then had lunch at the base galley followed by a tour of the Trident Training Facility and a question/answer session with the commanding office Captain Brian Turney (former commanding office of USS Chicago from 2016-2018). Finally, a trip to the lower base and a tour of the USS Florida SSGN-728. The day ended with dinner and drinks at the Horse and Cow.

Saturday was open for attendees to explore the Jacksonville area, tour a littoral combat ship or get in a quick round of golf. The reunion closed Saturday evening with a banquet where all enjoyed comments by our guests Keith Post and Captain Turney. Following the meal, results of the 50/50 raffle and silent auction were presented and two attendees were randomly selected to each receive one free night stay.

The Association wishes to thank everyone who supported us and attended the reunion.
